Austrian Newspaper Wirtschafts Blatt Offices
Working with designers IDFL, leading
Austrian newspaper Wirtschafts Blatt set out to create a workspace that
embodied their brand throughout its architecture, furniture design,
color palette and interior graphics.
The key brief was to ‘Change to a new
spirit”, requiring dynamic use of space and introduction of fresh
ambiance for a motivational and quality environment in which to collate
the latest economic, finance and financial market news for daily issue,
and digital application, by the Vienna based news team.

The layout was partially dictated by the existing space, so the design has divided the office into three zones including a central entrance, administration area, and editorial and production office.

Smaller offices and meeting rooms are screened off with graphical glass walls, which further establish the newspapers identity as well as subtly define spaces; open space connects the units to semi-secluded spots and pods used for brainstorming sessions and internal meetings, which encourages information sharing and workforce interaction.

The mathematical arrangement of bespoke furniture provides both a visual and a sound division between workplaces; the design enables the layout to flow, whilst maintaining a privacy often lacking in an open plan workspace.
